This online course will cover the main processes governing oil spills on land and in aquatic environments, along with practical training in using the OilFlow2D computational model for oil-spill simulations. Participants will gain hands-on experience setting up and running a range of scenarios, including pipeline spills affecting sensitive areas and spills in marine and riverine environments. The simulations will help determine the likely fate and transport of spilled oil based on the spill location and volume.
